Mario Camacho / September 25, 2016

Hello, my fellow judokas. I hope all is well with you and your judo trainning.

Indiana Judo has been having a good year with three new clubs signing up to be members of the Indiana Judo family. These include Get A Grip Judo from Fort Wayne, IN, Sparta Judo from Fishers, IN and the Ross Center Judo Academy from Muncie, IN. They join long time members Branson Judo from Anderson, IN, Judan Judo from Portland, IN, Marion PAL Judo from Marion, IN, Ball State Judo from Muncie, IN, Club Bushido from Evansville, IN and Kenshiki Warriors Judo from Fort Wayne, IN.

Our activities have also been ramping up. We have had two State workouts, one coaches clinic, a mid-year promotion and two clubs that have hosted tournaments. Does this mean the year is over, not by a long shot. Coming up next there will be a Kata Clinic with guest Sensei Eiko Shepherd. This kata clinic will take on the Goshin Jutsu kata and take place on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Ross Community Center in Muncie, IN. Then we head back for more tournament fun with the 14th Annual Red, White and Blue Judo Classic tournament. This tournament is hosted by Marion PAL Judo and will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at St Paul Parish School in Marion, IN. From there we will have the End of the Year Promotions and State Workout on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from Sparta in Fishers, IN. Any person who is ready to test for their Shodan or above can send in their paper work. Please check the above Promotions link for more information.

You might be asking if these are the only activities left in the year and I will say no. One of the goals of Indiana Judo is to link the Judo community together. With this in mind look for event information on this website along with emails or Facebook posts about workouts or other activities. If your club wants to host a State Workout at your dojo please contact me at indianajudo.mario@yahoo.com.

With September coming to a close soon, there is always time for you or your club to become a member of Indiana Judo. Please help us grow this awesome sport of Judo in Indiana.

Thank you

Mario
